One of one. A classic aviator in gold, the teardrop shape drawn in the thinnest of wire, with a double bridge that reads as a fine line across the brow. Dark green lenses, even from edge to edge, deep as a shaded pool. In place of temples, a gold chain runs down to two raw stones of pale mint quartz, each held in a gold-dipped cap.

The Frame

Gold-tone metal aviator with a slim double bridge and fine wire rims. Temple-less: the chain is the temple.

The Lens

Dark green polycarbonate lenses: lightweight, shatterproof, UV400. A solid tint that softens the glare and leaves the colour of the day intact.

The Chain

18K gold-plated box chain, cut to hang close to the collarbone and to gather quietly in the hand when the glasses come off.

The Stone

Two natural quartz stones in a soft mint green, left raw and hand-set in 18K gold-plated caps. Each was shaped by nothing but time, so each is its own shape. This is the only Saint-Tropez.

Designed in Egypt.

Most glasses are held by two arms. These are held by a chain — and every other decision followed from that one.

THE FRAME

There are no arms.

The chain clips into a small gold loop at each corner, passes the ear, and falls. Behind that loop there is nothing at all.

Polycarbonate. It absorbs impact instead of breaking, and the UV400 filter is part of the material itself — no coating on top to scratch away or fade.

Weight, settled before assembly. The chain is weighed against the frame and against the stone, so the piece balances itself and sits where you set it.
