One of one. A navigator frame in gold with a double bridge: a straight bar across the brow and a second, lower bridge beneath it, the lenses squared off and softened at the base. Warm brown lenses sit deep at the top and ease a shade lighter toward the lower edge. Where the temples would be, a gold chain falls to two raw blue quartz stones, each hand-set in a gold-dipped cap.

The Frame

Gold-tone metal navigator with a double bridge, the upper bar drawn straight across the brow. Temple-less: the chain is the temple.

The Lens

Brown polycarbonate lenses, deep at the top and lighter at the base: lightweight, shatterproof, UV400. Warm enough to soften the afternoon, steady enough to see it clearly.

The Chain

18K gold-plated box chain, with enough presence to rest quietly at the collarbone and to drop straight when the glasses are lifted away.

The Stone

Two natural blue quartz stones, left raw and hand-set in 18K gold-plated caps, pale and frosted like ice held up to the light. No two stones are alike, so no two pairs are alike. This is the only Como.

Designed in Egypt.

Most glasses are held by two arms. These are held by a chain — and every other decision followed from that one.

THE FRAME

There are no arms.

The chain clips into a small gold loop at each corner, passes the ear, and falls. Behind that loop there is nothing at all.

Polycarbonate. It absorbs impact instead of breaking, and the UV400 filter is part of the material itself — no coating on top to scratch away or fade.

Weight, settled before assembly. The chain is weighed against the frame and against the stone, so the piece balances itself and sits where you set it.
